The Monterey Bay Aquarium displays over 550 species of animals and plants in numerous indoor and outdoor exhibits. It is located in Cannery Row in Monterey Bay, a prime location for shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities. Top exhibits at the aquarium include jellyfish tanks, the family-friendly Splash Zone and a 28-foot high kelp forest. One of the top aquariums in the nation, in August 2007 Parents Magazine called the aquarium the best aquarium for kids, citing its interactive exhibits, special programs and live exhibits.
